Welcome

The purpose of creating this Faculty is to study the relationship between man and nature. The focus of this Faculty would be on –

(a) the basic conceptual framework for natural sciences as an alternative to the framework of hypotheses that exists today in order to highlight the spiritual and moral dimension of education in natural sciences.
(b) the methodology of assessing the contribution of natural sciences and
(c) to production of competent technical professionals required by different organizations and industries in public and private sectors.

Progress of Information Technology (IT) related activities has now become the driving force for social and economic development all over the world. Global trade in IT products is growing at an average rate of 20% as against 12% growth in total global trade in goods. E-commence has become the most challenging feature in the development of international trade. The global figures for e-commence were expected to be US$ 377 billion in 2000, US$ 717 billion in 2001 and to cross US$ 1 trillion by 2002. Development of IT and e-commence has thus become a focal point for policy planners, administrators, businessmen and IT practitioners from developed and developing countries.

In Bangladesh, IT, Internet and communication systems will become the new sign of its competitive edge over others in respect of international commerce.

As Bangladesh is now in a disadvantageous position on account of its backwardness in the areas of information technology, immediate reforms and implementation of its IT sector would be considered with great emphasis.

To meet the present demand for IT professionals and engineers, Darul Ihsan University has decided to introduce a programme entitled “Computer Science and Information Technology” under the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
